Agric Minister Commissions FGN-IFAD projects in Benue State

The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Chief Audu Ogbeh, on Friday commissioned agricultural projects jointly executed by the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and the Federal Government.

The commisioning held at various local government areas in Benue State.

The projects, located in Ife village, Otukpo, Rice Processing Mill also in Otukpo, Cassava Processing Centre in Ai-Dogodo, Okpoku local government and few other locations were sited in Benue State.

They are part of interventions meant to support local farmers and ameliorate some of their challenges.

According to the ministry, the Cassava Processing Centre built as part of the Federal Govt of Nigeria-IFAD Value Chain Development programme in Ai-Dogodo, Okpoku LGA is meant to process Vitamin A Garri, animal feeds, industrial and household starch, cassava flour among others.

In Aliade, Gwer-East Local Govt Area of Benue state, the Agric Minister was welcomed by Ashina Women Agricultural Co-operative Society, after which the minister commissioned the FGN-IFAD VCP Rice Processing Mill for the Aliade rice producing cluster.

The beneficiaries applauded FG and IFAD for the intervention.
