THE Federal Ministry of Environment says it will commission a community waste management plant in Karu, Nasarawa State on Monday.
The commissioning originally scheduled for 10:30am, 4th November has been rescheduled to 2:30pm.
It would be embarked upon by the Minister of Environment, Dr. Muhammad Mahmood and his junior colleague, Sharon Ikeazor.

“Kindly note that the commissioning of the Karu Solid Waste Management Project will now hold by 2:30pm to enable the attendance of the Governor of Nasarawa State while take-off time is 1:30pm,” the ministry stated in a tweet shared by Saghir Mohammed, Director of Press for the ministry.

Though, the initiative is being applauded, there are waste recycling plants established by the ministry at six different locations across the country but rots away due to proper maintenance.
“Highly commendable, but the maintenance should please be taken strictly,” Temitope Ayodele tweeted.
